Diapers, also known as nappies, are sponge like undergarments which are worn by individuals with the main aim of absorbing urinal or fecal waste products and preventing embarrassing and inconvenient leaks. Diapers are most commonly associated with infants. However, adults also wear diapers in cases where they are unable to control their bowel or bladder movements. This includes invalids, individuals with disabilities and elderly people. The use of adult diapers, also known as incontinency pads, helps these people to maintain a sense of dignity even under very trying circumstances. Caregivers are usually charged with the responsibility of changing the diapers when they become full.
